Wear it short


Traditionally men in public place do not wear shorts unless it is to the beach or tennis court. It is not considered appropriate. But the same pair of shorts has been introduced as summer shorts, in casual wear, with button down shirts.
Wearing shorts s now a part of main stream and many have adopted this outside the tennis court and outside the beach.

It was developed by the military in the 14th century. It kept the soldiers cool in the tropical climate. These were initially called knee breeches or knee trousers and were later introduced in sports by the Americans. Somewhere along the line it was adopted as shorts and was strictly to be used by the boys. Throughout Europe and North America boys wore these shorts – then called ‘knickerbockers’, only when they reached puberty were they given trouser to wear. Many prep schools and urban public schools adopted it as standard uniform.

Pay attention to your physique. For slim legs, choose slim cut shorts that end above the knee. If you are short and chubby do not wear shorts. It will make you look shorter. If you want to wear them, try short shorts but make sure they are not too tight.
- Wear shorts with pride and confidence. Use classic patterns like checks, stripes, or solids.
- Wear shorts for very casual events like get together, and backyard barbecue. A
T-shirt, cargo shorts and flip flops will make you look like a college boy while Madras shorts, polo shirt, with loafers or boat shoes will make you look very debonair.
-if wearing white or light colored shorts wear grey, white or skin-toned underwear. Or the underwear will show through.


- Do not wear shorts with a sports coat, blazer or neckwear unless you are living in the Bermudas.

- Do not wear visible socks.
- Do not wear shorts to office.
